Advent Calendars

My calendar
Mom's calendar

Laura's

Well my home is decorated for Christmas and it's oh so cozy feeling, I love the glow of the lights on the tree when all the other lights are off it so warm.
I got a wild hair on the 2nd of December to make Advent calendars so around 9:30 p.m. I started the 1st one. I just used lots of things I had in my scrapbooking stash. I finished it up the next morning and promptly delivered it to Laura so she could begin using it. I was quick dropping off her surprise and got a big hug. I think she liked it.

My mom and I decided on Thursday to stay home and do crafts instead of getting out and shopping in the cold. I made her and I a calendar too. My girls love it. They can't wait each day to put up a new date. Laura tells me they take one off each day and I hadn't thought of that but I will let the girls decide if they want to have them all up to begin with or add a new one each day. How do most people do this?
Let the countdown begin....

YES...I love my Advent calendar!!! You are the BEST! I can't believe you made three! I would have been worn out after the first one. I have a short attention/patience span though :)

Well, typically you add things to an advent calendar as the month progresses, but yours was just too darn cute. I decided to leave them all on and take them down one at a time. It's fun either way!

I totally agree...I have the tree on all day, because I just love those twinkling lights! At night is sooo cozy! Thanks again, sis! WE LOVE YOU!!

Actually, you start with everything on the calendar and take them off each day Christmas gets closer! Sorry girls, I am older than you and know what I am talking about!!!!! ha! That's what we have always done, think of the calendars you buy. All the little doors are closed and you open them one by one.

Oh so cute! I remember one we had when we were kids...my sister and I LOVED it! It had a big Christmas tree on it and in the bottom were little pockets that had ornaments...each day we pinned a new ornament on.

Love the calanders. I tried making one too but it was too late to use it for 2008.
