Faces

I love really close up pictures of their faces, it shows their sweetness, at least to me anyway.
You can see the tiny hairs on their cheeks and each little lash on their eyes.
My girls are so beautiful to me, inside and out.
I cannot believe how fast they are growing up.
I want to recall each moment with them.

Striper Fishing

Our Catch 40 Striper bass
the guide, Charlie & I

My brothers Jeff and Justin

My dad & I

Well I made it home on Saturday around 7pm and boy was I tired. We drove to Kingston,OK on Friday it was a 4 1/2 hour trip. We got up at 5am on Saturday morning and were fishing by 7:30.
We headed home after that.
My husband has been to Lake Texhoma before. This lake is partly in Texas and partly in Oklahoma. We had all mentioned that it sounded great, so for Christmas he paid for me, my dad, and two brothers to go try it out. This is a guided trip which means the guide baits the hook and then when the fish are caught he takes them off the hook and baits it up again. We ended up catching our limit of 10 fish each. We caught more but threw them back. This man had been doing this for 27 years. He could tell with his equipment where the fish were and how deep the water was. When we were finished around 12:30 he took them all in and we got pictures and then he cleaned them all in no time flat and bagged them up for us to take home. The biggest fish I caught was a little over 7lbs. I also have to say that I did catch the first fish and I was pretty proud of that.
It was really a great time. I have always loved fishing and have done it since I was a child. This was a wonderful way to get to spend with a few of the most important men in my life. We stayed in a trailer house there on the lake. We ate out and even visited the largest casino in Oklahoma.
I hope we can all go back and do this again soon.

Get Real

Laura at Elephant Juice had a challenge this past week. "What is occupying your time this week?" Looking at last week It didn't start off so great. Monday Emily woke up with a red matted eye AGAIN.... I was so frustrated this time we called the EYE Dr. right away and got in within hours. Long story short he uncovered the mystery that we have dealt with since Jan. She has a virus that lays dormant in her eye. It just flared up every so often. So Monday we started a drop in her eye for a month. I also took my dog to get his shots that day.

Everyday I work at the school tutoring 4 kindergarten children for 30 min. a day. I then go home and eat lunch and go back at 3 two days a week to help with snacks for an after school program.

Soccer practice got underway, between the two girls and that took 3 evenings.

My wonderful neighbor had a birthday and we went over and celebrated with cake an ice cream on Tuesday.

On Friday my husband had some tests at the hospital, very stressful but we made it through.

As soon as I got him home and resting, my sister-in-law picked me up and we headed to Wichita for a scrapbooking weekend. We started Friday afternoon and packed up to go home on Sunday after lunch.... I got lots of pages completed, ate too much and had a wonderful time with friends.

Thanks Laura for encouraging me to look back over my week and realize what a wonderful full life I have. So many blessings to be thankful for. The best husband for being here for my girls and taking such good care of them when I'm gone. He had all the laundry done and dinner ready when I got home on Sunday. The girls had already taken their baths and read their books.

This week will be busy too. Soccer games have started which I love, but I sure do wish it would warm up!

creativity

When the weather is not so great and were stuck inside Emily always seems to find something creative to do. She takes things apart and builds things and sometimes just tinkers around.
I thought she looked so deep in concentration here. Not exactly sure what she is making but she is working hard at it.
